Micro Greens

Microgreen Art Garden:

Combine your kids’ artistic skills with the world of gardening by creating a “microgreen art garden.” Here’s how you can do it:

Choose a Creative Container: Find a shallow and wide container with drainage holes. This could be a decorative planter, a wooden box, or even a repurposed container.

Prepare the Soil: Fill the container with a suitable potting mix or soil designed for microgreens. Make sure it’s well-draining.

Sow the Seeds: Let your kids scatter a variety of microgreen seeds on the soil’s surface. They can design patterns, draw shapes, or even create small landscapes.

Cover and Water: Lightly sprinkle a thin layer of soil over the seeds and gently press it down. Water the soil gently using a spray bottle or a fine mist setting on a watering can.

Watch Them Grow: Place the container in a spot with indirect sunlight. Microgreens don’t need intense light. Keep the soil consistently moist.

Harvest and Enjoy: As the microgreens grow, they’ll create a living artwork. Once they’ve reached a suitable height (usually a few inches), harvest them by snipping them just above the soil line. These microgreens are not only visually appealing but also edible and nutritious!
